Don't bother making them. Get a guy called Finnegan to stop by the Jolly Pirate donut shop before meeting at the stadium. Pumpkin donuts and home brewed Starbucks coffee with Bailey’s is the preferred 1st breakfast of our tailgaters. Now onto 2nd breakfast.
1 pound cooked and drained ground sausage
3 cups of milk
1 tsp salt
6 slices bread cut into 1-inch pieces
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1/4 diced green pepper
1/2 diced onions
Beat milk and eggs then add salt, bread and sausage. Stir in onions and green pepper. Pour into 9" x 13' pan. Sprinkle with cheese, cover and refrigerate overnight. Get up real early if a noon game and put into a 350⁰oven for one hour. Wrap in a towel and place into a cooler for the game. Coolers keep things hot too!
10 cups of 1-inch cubed sturdy white bread
1 8 oz bar of Philly Cream Cheese
1 1/2 cups of milk
2/3 cup of half and half
1/2 cup of maple syrup
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 Tbs powdered sugar
Coat 9" x 13" baking dish with cooking spray. Place bread cubes evenly into dish. Beat cream cheese at medium speed until smooth.
NOW THIS IS IMPORTANT! Add eggs 1 AT A TIME!!! Mixing well after each addition! Add milk, half and half, syrup and vanilla and mix until smooth. Pour cream cheese mixture over top of the bread; cover and refrigerate overnight.
Game day! Remove casserole from the cooling device and let stand for 30 minutes.
Bake at 375⁰ for 50 minutes or until nice golden brown. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with extra powdered sugar and maple syrup.
1/2 lb. smoked sausage, cubed
1 med. onion, diced
1 med. bell pepper, diced
1 tomato, diced
1 tbsp. garlic, minced
1/2 tsp Greek seasoning
8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
8 10" flour tortillas
Sauté all ingredients except eggs and cheese on medium high heat for 10 minutes. Add eggs; cook until eggs are done. Wrap in flour tortillas and add cheese. Fold and top with salsa. 8 servings
2 Package of frozen diced breakfast potatoes with peppers
1 can of nacho cheese soup
1 can of cream of celery soup
8 oz sour cream
Salt and pepper to taste
Shredded Cheddar cheese
Place potatoes and peppers into casserole dish. In a separate bowl mix the soups and sour cream. Mix with potatoes and top with liberal amounts of shredded cheddar. Bake at 350⁰ for 45 minutes.
Making this in throw away aluminum pans with lids and taking them to the tailgate in a cooler is our method of bringing hot food to the tailgate.
2 lbs frozen hash browns
½ cup (1 stick) melted butter
1 10.75 oz can cream of chicken soup
1 pint of sour cream
½ cup grated sweet onion
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
1 tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 11x14 inch casserole or baking dish with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and mis well. Spread evenly in prepared pan. Bake for 45 minutes until top is golden brown.
